Northen Gate Approach to the Temple Mount

Barclay’s Gate on the Western Wall. This part of the Western wall is still in place today, also known as the Wailing wall due to the Jewish practice of mourning the destruction of the Temple.

Solomon’s Porch or Solomon’s Portico. A long portico within the Eastern Wall of the Temple Mount.

The furthest point at which women were allowed to enter the Temple precincts. At certain times the women and men would be separated from each other, the women having to stand on the balconies surrounding the court.

All animals to be sacrificed were brought to the Place of Slaughter where priest would prepare them as needed.

Two sets of concertina doors separated the Holy place from the rest of the people. Only priests were allowed entrance within.

Solomon’s Stables (incorrect name) were located in the large space beneath the Royal Stoa on the Southern side of the Temple Mount.
